| RADII |
|
Designers' template
Creation year: 2011
Material: Aluminium
RADII has 12 different radiuses from 0.5 to 6.0mm on an aluminium hexahedron,
and this will help product designers to predict the radius in real with touching
rather than imagine on the screen and drawing paper. It is made by precise CNC
milling process and the size is 18x18x50mm.

This work is my interpretation about how we perceive digital movie, and
to use the thought for the curtain call project.
If you magnify RGB screen, you will be able to see
Red, Green, Blue included by grids. I removed the RGB, and left
the grid only to project the grids onto people to make people become
a part of installation. When people move, they look like dots moving.
I could say the grids combined by small dots as high resolution, and big dots
as low resolution.

| Plytube |
|
|
Wooden tube and furniture applications Creation year: 2010
Material: plywood and veneers
Plytube is a new way of tubing wood using the similar principal of making paper tube but with some more process to harden the wooden tube which I made. Plytube is accurate wooden tube, very light but strong, long lasting as for the value of plywood and acceptable with all kinds of tooling and finishing for wood. The diameter, thickness, colour, type of wood and even the section of the shape will be able to be customized. Ultimately, it could also be used for architectural material as well as for life goods.
I made some furniture series which should be light. You will see how light but strong the furniture which are made with minimal material could be. For instance, the weight of the stool is 820g even though it is a proper sized stool and with rigid structure.
Each furniture shows the good things of plytube such as the structural rigidity, new aesthetic of joints and finish for the stool, extremely strong things for the bench and the hollowness of the tube which is used for a mobile phone charger cable pathway for the small tables.

| 7.5 Color Space |
|
Bookshelf
Creation year: 2008
Material: ABS, aluminum
Some size of color is needed to provide vitality and a character into a space.
I have found the appropriate angle 7.5 of a leaning object neither disturbing people moving nor being unstable itself.

Candlestand, Vase, Oil Lamp
Creation year: 2008 (initial: 2006)
Material: ceramics
Sometimes, observing objects in new angles aesthetically and functionally
gives unexpected joy. ONIV is a candlestand, vase and oil lamp inspired
from the shape of a wine glass upside down. If you read ONIV from backwards,
you would soon realize where this word originated from.

| Apartment |

Stackable Dishes
Creation year: 2007
Material: ABS
There are a lot of apartments in cities owing to the limited space reasons.
I compared cities as tables, accommodations as dishes and people as food.
As the food on a table is getting more, the dishes are needed to be stacked like apartment.

Candlestand
Creation year: 2006
Material: glass
Sometimes observing objects in a new angle gives an unexpected joy
of the discovery in beauty or function.
ONIV is a work inspired from the shape of a wineglass upside down. In this way,
the wineglass newly obtained both beauty and function.
The upside down bottom is suitably shaped to put something on.
Romantic union is intended by combining a wineglass and a candlestand.
If you read ONIV from backwards, you would soon realize where this word originated from. |

Static Table Set |
|
Tables, chairs
Creation year: 2006
Material: mortar, connected tempered glass, iron bar
Chairs and a table are interpreted as one part of a building in this work. I intended to create sharp image of this table set by using exposed concrete and tempered glass which are raw construction materials. The heaviness of concrete and clearness of glass are accentuated with static image of weightlessness. |

| Invisible Speaker |
|
Speaker
Creation year: 2006
Material: super mirror, stainless steel, speaker units, wood
This is a proposal for harmony between a product and a space.
The mirror surface of this speaker reflects surroundings as if it doesn¡¯t exist.
Things attached to the mirror have an angle of 90 degree, forms
of things therefore reversed and reflected, and the mirror surface is as if it disappears.
Sound is reflected to walls, and the sound nondirectionally spreads.
Hence, the existence of the speaker will be minimized. |

Cutlery
Creation year: 2004
Material: new ceramics
This product started from two main purposes. First, whenever you wash your dishes,
you might have difficulties to find spoon as cutlery sinks deep down into water.
Second, it is based on the idea of easy holding. Through making inside empty,
it becomes rising to the surface of water like a float. Meanwhile, the spherical shape in the center
acts as a supporter to help you when you cut and chop food with less effort. |
